Political Slant: A Shi'ite Muslim, Tarek is constantly under he scrutiny of his peers for his religious orientation. While he makes his living putting people in contact with each other, mostly along the Northern border with Turkey, there is growing distrust from the Sunni community about his allegiance. Some have said he is an Alawite spy working for the Assad regime.
